Chelyabinsk citizens are invited to choose the best film of the international competition of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography
Tomorrow, on 11th of November, in Chelyabinsk there starts the 36th International Festival of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. 50 students' works will be presented in 62 major cities across the country. Chelyabinsk citizens will be able to watch movies by first-time filmmakers in the cinema "Znamya" and vote for their favorite film.
International Student Festival of the Institute of Cinematography is an authoritative platform to showcase creative achievements of the future leaders of screen art, where students of Russian and foreign film schools can show their training, course, degree of films and theatrical works to the general public.
The main purpose of the festival is the recognition and promotion of young talents of contemporary cinema, assessment of the prospects of development of domestic and world cinema. The festival aims to promote intercultural dialogue, the consolidation of Russia's integration into the global cultural space.
The competition takes place in two stages. On the first, inter-institutional tour the selection committee composed of teachers and the best students of the Institute, have watched 53 films recommended by the departments. The jury awarded prizes in 13 nominations, including for best director working in feature film, best director working in documentary films, for the best work of the operator in the feature film, etc.
Chelyabinsk will host the second international tour. The competitive program includes declared student works from 39 countries. Film representations are held from 11 to 15 November. The audience will see 50 short films and cartoon films lasting from one to 30 minutes.
"After viewing, we will distribute questionnaires in which viewers will have to mention the most successful movie in their opinion. You can come even every day and vote. Representations are free. At the end of the marathon, we will send the results to Moscow, where will be determined winner, which will receive the Audience Award",- said the project coordinator Artyom Sozykin.
Let us recall that the festival has been held since 1961, in 2016 it will be 55 years.
The film festival will be held from 11 to 15 of November at the cinema "Znamya" (Kirova street, 112). Beginning is at 17-30 o'clock, admission is free.
