In Chelyabinsk commemorated the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan

Yesterday, February 13, the Znamya cinema hosted an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the Republic of Afghanistan. At a meeting with veterans of those tragic events, public men the acting as the Head of the city Vladimir Elistratov visited.

"February 15, 1989 – a special, significant page of the national military history. The day of completion of the withdrawal of a Limited contingent of Soviet troops from the Republic of Afghanistan will forever remain memorable for all our people. You have managed to save and carry through the years the main thing-the indestructible brotherhood, which helped you to survive and honorably withstand the ordeal. I wish you, your comrades and families success, good health and prosperity," Vladimir Elistratov addressed the audience.

The unique knowledge and experience of Afghan soldiers is in demand today: in the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, in state and public organizations, including responsible work to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism, citizenship and selfless service of Russia.

During the reception, Vladimir Elistratov presented certificates of Honor and gratitude to the administration of Chelyabinsk to the participants of military operations and members of public organizations engaged in interaction with veterans of Afghanistan. For the audience sounded songs performed by the group " BMD "and was shown the film"Save Leningrad".
