Chelyabinsk will present "Accessible Art"

On December 11, the Pushkin Central Library will host the opening of the Affordable Art social and cultural project. It is implemented within the framework of the "Accessible Environment" program and will launch the cycle of events within the Year of the Theater, announced by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2019.

"Affordable Art" is a pilot project of the Department of Culture of the Chelyabinsk Administration and the Pushkin Central Library for People with Disabilities, which involves meeting this audience with writers, artists, actors, musicians every second Tuesday of the month.

In 2019, the municipal theaters of Chelyabinsk will take part in the project: the Theater Mannequin, the New Art Theater, the Theater of Shadows and Sand Painting "Scarab", the Chelyabinsk Theater of Contemporary Dance.

The first participants of the project will be the actors of the Chelyabinsk Theater of Contemporary Dance (artistic director Olga Pona). Three theatrical works will be presented to the audience.

The Chelyabinsk Theater of Contemporary Dance was created in 1992 with the support of the Administration of the city of Chelyabinsk. Over the years, the team has found its own dance language. A repertoire has been created that is regularly updated. The Chelyabinsk Theater of Contemporary Dance is a participant in many Russian and foreign festivals. The performances of the theater were shown in many Russian cities and abroad, 14 times they were nominated for the Russian national theatrical award "Golden Mask" and became its owner twice ("Waiting", "Sketches from nature").
