The leaders of traditional religions met with the students

Yesterday, February 14, Metropolitan of Chelyabinsk and Miass Grigory and the chief mufti of the Ural region, Chairman of the regional spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Kurgan and Chelyabinsk regions Rinat Khaji-Hazrat Raev met with students of humanitarian direction of Chelyabinsk state University, discussing the theme of spiritual and moral development of youth as a factor of education of socially active citizen of modern society.

Students were given a unique opportunity not in the form of a sermon, but in the form of a live dialogue, sincere simple communication to get answers to many of their questions. The meeting discussed topical issues of inter-confessional and inter-ethnic communication, preservation of ethno-political stability in society. Students were interested in the opinion of authoritative religious leaders not only about the current geopolitical changes in the state, but also the issues of family, morality and even the meaning of life. Future philosophers, religious scholars learned the opinion of religious leaders of the southern Urals about the philosophy of religion, about" where the world is going", whether it is possible to do good without belonging to religion and much more. Foreign students present at the meeting witnessed and participated in inter-confessional and inter-ethnic dialogue and continuity of traditions and cultures of our city.

"We are proud and cherish the warm fraternal relations of representatives of traditional religions – Orthodox and Muslims-that have developed over the centuries in our city. Peaceful neighborhood is a conscious choice of our wise ancestors, who through the centuries gave us this respect for brothers in faith, neighbors in the common home", - said the first Vice-rector of ChelGU Andrey Petrov.

The event was organized By the Department for interaction with public associations of the city of Chelyabinsk. Such meetings have already been held at South Ural state University, South Ural state University of Humanities and education.
